Television's biggest night has its 2026 calendar locked in: the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will air September 14 at the Peacock Theater, preceded by the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has confirmed the schedule for one of the entertainment industry's most closely watched annual events. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, honouring the best in American prime-time television programming from June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026.
As is customary, the main ceremony will be preceded by the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, split across two nights on September 5 and 6, which recognise technical and craft categories including cinematography, editing, sound, and visual effects ahead of the main broadcast. The ceremony will air on NBC and stream on Peacock, produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment.
